St. Simon's Island

Last week we went to St. Simon's Island so Justin could attend a Labor/Management conference for work, and Haley and I could play. We stopped for dinner at a Mexican restaurant on the way there and Haley had a good time playing with her Daddy's hat.Wednesday morning we went down to the pier and light house to walk around and we let Haley enjoy the swings for awhile. Then we had lunch at Barbara Jean's before Justin headed over for some conference workshops. The pumpkin cornbread was just as good as I remembered from last year and Haley really loved it too!Justin played golf as part of the teambuilding activities Thursday, so Haley and I went swimming at the hotel and played in the room some. She's just learned to say "cheese" when I get the camera out, so I can capture what kind of looks like a smile. We went out to a couple bars and restaurants each night and Haley did really well making friends, and getting them to feed and entertain her.We also had a chance to go to the beach for a little while one afternoon. It was much warmer than when we were at Myrtle Beach and Haley really enjoyed it this time. Of course she went right for the ocean. She loved the waves and said "weeeee" every time we went over one. Then she starting saying "uh oh" whenever a bigger wave was coming. She also enjoyed playing in the sand and getting both of us all dirty. It was little inconvenient sharing a hotel room with Haley - I spent some time sitting by the bathroom door to get enough reading light, but we had a really good time. It was a nice change of pace and a lot of fun to introduce Haley to the ocean!
