The (Neighbor's) Water Slide

Our neighbors* that don't really live there were all in town for Independence Day, and they had a big inflatable water slide that they set up several times over the weekend. I took Haley over to play in the water on Sunday afternoon. She was a little intimidated at first, since she usually only plays with the kids one or two at a time, but she got in the water and splashed around some.*The grandparents live in Florida and bought the house because it's closer to their grandkids that live in Georgia, so they are there once a month or so, and usually have one or two of the grandkids staying with them. They are really nice and let Haley play on their trampoline, swingset, treehouse, rockwall, and porch whenever they aren't there, and Haley loves to play with the younger grandkids when they are in town.Pretty soon Haley climbed up the ladder by herself and was sitting at the top of the slide. She was scared to go down at first, but the oldest kid offered to hold her hand. She still wouldn't go, but watched him hold hands with one of the other kids. Then he climbed up again and she said she wanted to go down with him. The first couple of times she had this look of terror on her face. But she would smile and laugh when she got to the bottom. She kept climbing up and sliding down though and had a great time. Justin came over to see her and she got brave laying down on her back and belly. She got to play on it a few times throughout the week, and had a great time. I'm so proud of her for being brave and doing something that was scary!

This is too cute for words! I wish I could get on that slide - it was a heat index of over 105 degrees yesterday here! Looks like Haley could show me how it is done.
