Haley's Birthday Party

We drove up to Columbia on Haley's actual birthday, so that we could have a party with our families and a few friends that Saturday. It was the best drive we've ever had and we didn't have to stop once, which hasn't happened since before I got pregnant. Haley woke up happy on her Party Day and we made her take some pictures with Daddy and Mama first thing, although she was more interested in the balloons than in posing. She was very kind on her birthday and tried to help Daniel because she didn't think the bouncer was bouncing enough, then we had the cousins pose together for a few pictures before the party started. Anna was so sweet with Daniel and whenever someone came close she would say "that's my Daniel". Sara had been practicing with her to say Happy Birthday to Haley, but when they got there and Sara asked what she wanted to say to Haley all Anna could think of to say was "Birthday Cake".We ate lunch first thing and had a yummy meal of brisket, macaroni and cheese, corn casserole, baked beans, and fruit salad. Then it was time for presents and Scooter tried to stay close by, but wasn't real comfortable being the center of attention. Haley didn't mind people watching her though as she started pushing some boxes around on the floor. Then she got interested for a couple of minutes and helped me open a present. Anna watched patiently hoping for a chance to open some presents or play with Haley's new toys. Sara told Anna to ask Haley if she could play with her toys and Anna didn't want to at first, then she thought about it for awhile and kind of looked at Haley and finally looked back at Sara and said "But she can't talk". So I let Anna help open some presents, but she lost interest in that pretty quickly and just wanted to play with the toys. If only Haley's Daddy could get them open a little faster. After presents we visited for a little bit. Haley spent some time with Grandma and then she got to meet Allie, the sweet little baby of our friends Brad and Jennifer. It had been a few years since we'd seen them and it was great to catch up and to meet Allie. And Jenn, who does some professional photography work was kind enough to take these gorgeous pictures for us. Soon enough, after another family picture it was time for cake. The crowd gathered around to watch the birthday girl and there were so many adorable pictures that I couldn't pick just a few...so I decided to do a whole nother post just on the birthday cake!
