Feeding Time

Haley is eating mostly table food now, and she rarely eats without an audience. At this particular meal Cricket was outside playing, but Scooter knew it was dinner time, so he assumed his position. Well, he actually moved a little closer than normal since Cricket wasn't there to claim her spot.Score! I get something without even having to fight for it!Oh no, here comes Cricket and she looks mad that she's been missing out! Both dogs are now in their assigned positions, with their eyes locked on the ground, like cougars ready to pounce. Now that there's competition they've got to circle the wagons and make sure they don't miss out on anything that landed on their side.
Haley always rewards them for keeping her company. When she gets full, she starts throwing everything that's left on tray to the dogs. Which is good and bad: it makes clean up easier, but sometimes maybe I want a bite or two. And the really bad thing is that she does this everywhere, even if there are no dogs in sight - which does not make for easy clean up when we're away from home.Since I'm slack and haven't gotten her one of the bibs with the little pouch things yet, at the end of each meal she gets to dig out everything that she dropped in her lap and that's when the dogs really get rewarded!
